i found a tutorial on pinterest by the very clever
elizabeth hartman on how to create a postage stamp quilt without loosing your mind. it's one of those clever little tricks that make you think 'ha! why didn't i think of that?!' but of course i had to make my life harder by not reading the instructions properly and cutting my beginning squares too small, opps. the above little block is just under 5 inches square, and each little square just half an inch. so many possibilities...
check out elizabeth's tutorial right here.

Elizabeth's tutorial is rather brilliant! And your little 1/2" squares are sweet!
I love all those teeny tiny pieces!
I've used that method with 1/2" HSTs - works a flipping treat!
Lu that's just too cute and all I want to do is dash up to my studio and have a go at one of these...darn the kids wanting their tea!
Brilliant, so lovely - will be checking out that tutorial, thanks for sharing! :)
Wow that's crazy! Such a cute block! =D
Cannot believe that there is a fabric cartel that tries to control prices, especially when it is your own design - your postage stamp square is exquisite!
