phat kwarterly

john & katy. john had just stepped off a plane on to foreign land
for the first time ever ;)
my student's work from the portholes workshop. they rocked.
this past weekend was spent teaching at baden powell house for the fat quarterly crew in london. oh man. i don't think i have enjoyed myself so much in a LONG time. i actually laughed so much, i needed incontinence pads. i swore a lot, (particularly with this lot) ate a lot, & laughed all of the time. one thing i didn't do, was take many photos. but that's ok, because all you need to do to witness all the sewing, the laughing, the silliness, the teaching & the quilts is go and check out the FQ london 2012 flickr group or google 'fat quarterly retreat' and read a host of blog posts that can put it better into words than i can. it will be repeated next year and i hope i am asked to join in. in actual fact, i better be, otherwise i shall sulk. so a ginormous and gigantic thank you to katy, tacha, john, brioni and lynne. i love you all intensely & i miss you already. roll on next year! x

Yay, it was fab! Thank you for being such a great (and patient) teacher and for giving approximately 60 of us that 'ah ha' moment with portholes. Roll on 2013!

thank you for opening my eyes to a whole new (and far less scary way) of quilting circles, unfortunately I now have to add it to my list of 'one-day' quilts, but I can't wait to see a whole host of them turning up in the flickr pool which I guess should be happening sometime on sunday evening, right?

I loved the Retreat and my only disappointment was that I didn't get to do your Portholes class. Everyone I spoke to who did it said it was a fantastic class. Maybe next year!!
