then throw into the mix that i discovered that my 'bloomsbury' print in my last moda collection had been ripped off by lecien (another story, i'll tell you if there's ever any response from the company, if you don't follow me on instagram take a look at my feed, i'm @lusummers)
so the other day, i cleared all my crap from the print table, covered it in 2 metres of PFD (prepared for dyeing) fabric and got to work. i deliberately didn't want to think about colour, just shape and pattern so i used black ink...this is where i am after 3 days of printing - (not constantly, you'll be relieved to know!) some bits work, others not so well and i'm not sure if it's finished or whether i want to start adding new colours, or what i will do with it afterwards but the exercise has done exactly what i wanted - taken me out of my comfort zone by thinking big...and it's been lovely.
PS...tomorrow's the first turkey shed workshop, very nervous but very excited, i'll take pics if i remember!

Oh! It looks amazing! I need to do some big stuff... sometimes you just get trapped under all the little things.
I love it!
It is so fabulous Lu!
I think it's amazing!!
It looks absolutely fabulous, and i know what the problem is, you're missing me aren't you? it's been a while since foq! ;o). Good Luck with the first workshop. x
Oooh, I love your print! That's a whole cloth quilt right there, definitely furnishing! A room screen would look awesome covered in your print. I saw your tweet about the Lecien rip off. Is that not something that Moda should also be involved in following up? Not sure how the copyright works. Beautiful work (yours, not theirs) :)
Sorry about the Lecien crap, I'd missed that, hope they get off their arses and reply soon!
I'm sure the class will be fine :o)
It looks awesome! I can't believe the nerve of Lecien! Too many rude words to print here!
Bugger on the ripping off thing, I will assume that Moda are backing you 100%??
Loving the therapy fabric!!
Good luck with the workshops - be yourself, talk about poo, you will be great!!!
Cheers
Lush x
love the giant fabric printiness. Looks gorgeous. And point me at Lecien - I'll punch them in the nads
The nerve of some companies. I hope it all gets sorted out quickly.
Love the quilt ~ did you paint the black spots?
Exciting that you'll be teaching ~ you're going to do great!
Love that cloth.... But cherish this time chasing around being a Mum... - it's all too short..! x
Shocked by the fabric copy! I really hope it all gets sorted soon.
I know exactly what you mean about school run woes. And club taxi service. We've switched a 1-mile walk to school for having to get in the car each morning this year, which I loathe, but has to be done as have to deliver youngest to nursery 5 miles away 15 minutes later. Oh, and then pick her up 2 hours after getting home again. Fun, fun, fun!
Love your screen printing, it's stunning.
Stunning piece, but I'm sorry that it was created from such nonsense going on in the background.
(And I wonder why Moda doesn't get more involved? What is with the fabric companies leaving it up to the designers? I realize they 'only' licence your designs, but it impacts them as well.)
