porthole progress...

so, it's at mum's on the quilting frame at the moment, very close to completion! i walked into her 'shed' this afternoon and nearly cried - in real life the whole effect is *amazing*. we have discovered that all that quilting has led to the porthole layers becoming rather 'pushed' up and funnel-like, so we'll need to do some hand stitching afterwards...

in other quilt progress, i'm nearing the end of binding the 16 mini quilts i've entered into the art quilt category...it's a bit slow going as i won't pretend it's my favourite part of the quilt making process...i'm having to break it down into bite-sized pieces so i don't go bonkers and start chopping holes in it.

i'll be happy to get these pieces done and sent to birmingham - i feel everything else (i've a thousand ideas for exploring other avenues...) has been put on hold. i'm dying to design some new fabrics, to do some drawing, and i've even got some plans on the go for some wood works...i just need some *time*!

it's seriously hot in this corner of the UK today, so i'm off to leap in the paddling pool. have a great weekend and may you frolic like gazelles in the warmth. (or like me, wallow like a hippo in a red polka dot bikini - now there's a nice image to leave you with.)

Absolutely stunning. I wish I was going to get the opportunity to see it. I think your fabric is pretty fab, but that quilt is just something else. I hope that you are both very (very) pleased with yourselves.
