porthole quilt finished, hurrah!

twig quilt finished, originally uploaded by lusummers.

so, it's done. it needs a sleeve on it, but it's done. i spent the afternoon stitching down the pokey outy round borders (there were 16 of them, it took a while) and as the top layer is canvas, it was pretty hard going. my previously poorly stitching finger is seriously perforated now. but luckily i didn't bleed on it. but it's all worth it! next stop, birmingham nec. do let me know if you happen to be going - i'd love to know what you think of it 'in the flesh'!

(and please excuse the fact the photo title is twig, i was over-excited when i wrote my post. it's of course called portholes. how could i possibly have forgotten the whole gloryhole/porthole debacle?!)

  1. Holy shizzle...that is mindblowingly mindblowing. Shame we're not going anywhere near NEC, i'd love to see it in the flesh.

Now go and rest that poor finger...
