brum brum

so, last thursday was a little bit exciting...i received a phone call from my mum when i was scraping carrots for tea...she asked me if i was sitting down...which of course i wasn't...she faffed around (like only my mum can) before telling me that our quilt gloryholes sorry i mean portholes, had won the 'group quilt' category at the festival of quilts at birmingham NEC! i screamed, she screamed, we both screamed. it was a scream fest.

i've more to say about the show, but will wait til i've taken some pretty pictures of the fabrics i bought, hmmmm, *drool*. i saw some old chums, met some awesome new ones...it was a terrific couple of days, and was particularly nice spending time with me muvver without someone with sticky fingers demanding our attention, and that's just my husband, hohoho.

*note: although mum and i were thrilled and honoured to be winners, i was slightly less than impressed with the dingy area the quilt was hung - the lighting was appalling...(god that makes me sound horrible, but i'm being honest)
