some waffling & thank god for twitter

back on june, i received an email from the royal exchange theatre craft shop in manchester, asking me to take part in their surface pattern exhibition in september. of course i would! i told them and we swapped a couple of emails. but when i asked what kind of work they'd like from me, i got no answer. i didn't think much of it because in this game every opportunity takes nurturing, and i've got used to stuff falling through, i just assumed they'd changed their minds, no problem, i'm well laid back. dare i say it, i've actually developed a thick skin! haha. anyway, a couple of weeks ago, i got a message on twitter from the craft shop saying "when you send your work, can you include some of your lovely badges?" in all honesty, i shit a brick. i sent back a message saying something along the lines of: i didn't hear back! i thought you didn't want me! but nope, they were still fully expecting some work by september 1st. so to cut a long story short, i had a *fantastic* time creating these 5 canvases and just got them sent by the deadline. why i'm waffling on with all this is to let all you northern types that live near manchester to get thee to the royal exchange craft shop in st ann's square because the exhibition opened yesterday and finishes on october 30th. and if you wanna take some pics of my work in situ to send me then you're seriously top banana.

and i completely forgot to say a massive great "thanks!!!" to everyone who commented on the porthole winning post, i really appreciate it xxx

How cheery! That worked out very well- nothing like a little last minute pressure to churn up the creative juices. Glad you had at least a few days to complete it!
