i'm by no means an embroiderer, but i can't help feeling pleased with this little project - i keep it in a little drawstring bag made of summersville strike offs and i take it whenever we're away and try to get a little bit done when i've got a spare 5 minutes. i'm trying to embroider enough for the front of a sofa cushion, but i might be some while...just thought you might appreciate a new idea on how to use some summersville! alphabetty would look brilliant done like this too...
Nice! Wish I had the patience.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness this is amazing! Lovely fabrics made double-lovely with some added threads. Too cool :)
ReplyDeleteThat's such a great idea Lou, a lot of your fabrics would be gorgeous bases for adding texture and embellishment - yet another reason to buy them! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's just adorable!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely!
ReplyDeletethank you everyone! x
ReplyDeleteI love that! So cute!
ReplyDeleteGenius! how to make awesome even more fantastic :-)
ReplyDeleteIt looks fantastic and such a brilliant idea
ReplyDeleteI love it :) I love hand embroidery but I am so slow, may just try something similar. Thanks for the inspiration
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! What an inventive idea! =D
ReplyDeleteGTFO! love!
ReplyDeleteCool!! It's on my to-do list to do this with some house fabric from Ikea but those houses are quite large. Maybe I need to buy some more of your fabric...... :) I'm also planning on doing this with some bird fabric I have but again, it's finding the time!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I think the design would also work as wallpaper for a kids room. Maybe on a bigger scale??
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with the fabric release. I hope it is really successful.
Cheers

This is really wonderful ~ I was thinking that you could color them in with crayons and then embroider ~ can't wait for the fabric to get to Portland, OR!
ReplyDeleteThat is so brilliant, love the colours you've used, well just love the whole thing really!
ReplyDeleteI don't do embroidery myself, but that is pure awesome.
ReplyDeleteOhhh so lovely. What a wondeful idea! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletethat is going to be beautiful! I kind of like it a bit random--kind of unfinished--I don't know if I'd bother doing the whole thing or just bits and pieces to pop on the black and white.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea, it's going to be wonderful...I might have to copy you! (No idea how I missed this post but I'm glad I saw it in my reader!)
ReplyDeleteThis looks absolutely fabulous! :)
ReplyDeleteI have that fabric, and I already thought of doing a similar thing with it. :) Your result looks so gorgeous, I just can't make up my mind, if that inspires me even more to do it, or makes me scared, because I don't think, I could do it so nice as you do!
(please don't mind my English...... ;) )
