yay!

after sitting unfinished for ages, i finally completed my folksy upcycle christmas competition piece. i gave you a sneak peak a while back, but here it is in all it's glory: flora mixed media mini quilt. i'm really happy with it, it's got that soft faded old look i was going for, but i've used my more modern imagery on it with my weave and scandi screen prints. if you have a folksy account and you like my piece, i'd be thrilled if you could favourite it! :)

in the nick of time...

i've just entered a paper collage into the howies/folksy competition where the brief is to craft/make/design anything as long as it relates to the brief 'life is complicated, sport is simple'. i had this idea of a sort of rambling to do list...i'm happy with how it turned out. the text is cut from 'marie-claire' magazine - loads of really nice textures, fabrics and colours - it's difficult to see here, but the individual letters are quite interesting...you can read more in my item description here on the folksy site, if you like :)

and the winner is...

oh, it's almost too tense!:) (that's my mum's hand by the way, i didn't feel i could do the draw!)
yay! it's lyn! well done lyn, i hope you check back soon. could you please email me your address? i'll get the quilt in the post first thing on monday. i hope this had given your weekend a nice start.
to the rest of you, thankyou SO much for the comments...i have to admit it's made me slightly more confused as i had amounts from £8 up to £60! ($16-$120 us) but it was an interesting discussion. the one big tip i got out of it that many of you mentioned is not to undersell myself or my work. and thankyou to you all for your good wishes and kind words about my pieces too. have a great weekend!

c'mon, don't be shy...

just to let you know that the competition to win '&A' mini paper quilt will be drawn tomorrow morning around 10am gmt.
i'd like to change the rules slightly (apologies; i wasn't sure how this would go) as i'm getting lots of visitors, but either 1) nobody wants to win this quilt or 2) by specifying the comment content i've scared people off. *i'm kinda hoping it's number 2!* so to be in with a chance of winning just leave a random comment. it could be about your dog, your grandmother, the weather, the state of the planet, or you could just say hello. and if you want to mention anything to do with pricing, that would be cool. happy friday!
many thanks to those who have alredy left a comment, your words have been taken on board and will hopefully help me make a decision! :)
