i can't believe i'm showing how...

awful my studio looked before my 'studios' makeover, but here's the proof of how slovenly i was, along with some 'after' shots below. god, i worked in all that chaos, how did i do it? i feel all smug. and less fat. day three, and i'm still going strong. i tell you people, that's damn good for me.

peekaboo!

well, i've had a busy weekend...my worktop, pinboard and floating shelves have been expertly put up with a man with a big drill. it's all looking rather marvellous so far. next up is a curtain for underneath the worktop to hide the crap i've hidden (neatly, i might add) i fancy a bit of colour and pattern and i also need to paint and tart up my old kitchen chairs...i'll show you them when i'm done. i bought a cute little set of drawers on rather elegant turned legs from our local junk/antique shop - i paid £20 for it together with one of the nicest mirrors i've ever seen...yum yum. ginge is very beautifully modelling it for me here. i also popped into one of our local charity shop much to the boy's total disgust...i managed to spend the princely sum of £3.50 and came out with some meakin bowls and ceramic tray (£1.50 the lot) a roll of vintage wallpaper (£1) and the funkiest chopping board i've ever seen for a quid. for goodness sake don't tell sam...i hid the loot under a bag of cat litter and smuggled it into the house. hehehe.

ta-da!

here are a couple of after pics of the workroom. after looking at them, i really do have an awful load of old crap. but at least it's organised crap. with beautifully penned stickers to remind me where said crap is. oh yeah, i also have a clean sink that is proving to be a pleasure to use - no more risks of catching some deadly disease from it, yay!

doodlings

hmmm...tomorrow i will post a pic of the cleaned workroom, but i've gotta say, although it's tidier, it's still not very practical. i don't have proper storage, only open bookcases, so whatever i do, it's still just rearranging boxes on top of each other. i can't afford anything really smart, so i'll make do for now. i've splashed out on lots of new boxes, but there's nowhere to put them except to stack them on top of one another, and it's sod's law that the things i want are always on the bottom! oh well, it's a make do and mend solution, but at least i can actually walk from one end to the other without breaking my leg. it doesn't help that there are six boxes full of bits of kitchen waiting for my handy man neil to come over and install. yay - at last there will be somewhere for my kitchen crap to live!

as i've not been working in my so called 'studio' (in reality the back room) as the big clean up operation has been occurring, i've been doing some doodles on graph paper. i love doing this, just me, a crisp new pad of paper, a black pen, a bag of crisps and 'cold case' and 'bones' (sealy booth = gerrowl!) on the telly. bloomin' perfect. oh crikey, i really am a loser. the above is a doodle-in-progress. bye for now, i'm off to loserville.
