on news stands right now!

this is really a message for our american cousins...

hi y'all! i've just had an email from 'quilting arts' to let you know that the special 'quilting arts gifts' magazines is on sale from today. it is not automatically sent to subscribers of 'quilting arts magazine' so if you'd like a copy and to read all about creating your very own winter journal covers by one lucie summers (who's she?) and other such wonderfulness, you'll have to hit the news stands right now. form an orderly queue, peeps.

looky here

waaaaaay back in may, i was asked by the editor of 'quilting arts magazine' to come up with a 'how-to' project for a special issue of the magazine to be called 'quilting arts gifts'. it had to be 'inspired by winter and the holiday season'. so i put on my thinking cap and created four sketchbook/journal covers all with a wintery theme, some more obvious than others. anyway, the deadline was early summer (when i was printing some of the fabric with holly leaves, i was thinking to myself, 'what the hell am i doing?' ;) so i sent off the journals and promptly forgot about them until i received a UPS parcel this morning with the returned journals and 3 complimentary issues. the photographs are beautiful...and the magazine in general is full of really gorgeous items. i'm thrilled to be a part of it all, and seeing my work in print is such a rush!

'world renowned contributer'

yep, that's what i've been described as (along with others, of course) in 'quilting arts gifts'. it's a magazine brought out by, yes, you've guessed it, quilting arts magazine. i was asked to do a project a million years ago, so there i was making 'winter' inspired journal covers in may! hehe, it seems such a long time ago. when i googled myself earlier, i discovered that they'd used a pic of my blue tree journal on the website, and i thought you would enjoy seeing it in august! :) see the full page right here!
