somebody else's fabric

ekk. i just got a lovely package from america-ca-ca* and in it were these delicious delicious fabrics from laurie over at scarlet fig. it sounds ridiculous, but when it comes to making stuff, i feel like i'm cheating when i use other people's (or commercial) fabrics. i know, it's stupid. but for laurie's, i'm making an exception. polar bears in dots holding flowers? you had me at polar bear. check out laurie (how happens to be a rather bloody lovely person as well as a flipping fabulous designer) on her blog and buy her fabric (including donkeys wearing some spiffy wellies) in her shop. you know you want to.

*can i just note to international readers, i'm not calling america 'ca-ca', which i'm assuming by sandy's comment in the comment box would not be nice. it was a silly take on vic & bob calling ulrika johnson, 'ulrika-ka-ka' on a UK tv show, 'shooting stars'. if you've no idea what i'm going on about, check this out: shooting stars

Ha haa loving the Shooting stars reference and liking the fabric from scarlet fig lots, I totally agree with the feeling of cheating when not using your own fabrics..silly isn't it!

I feel really bad now that you felt you had to explain yourself. I was not offended and was having some fun. I am also not interested in censoring anyone. Please accept my apologies for coming across that way!!!!! You do lovely work, which is why I follow your blog.

I feel the same way when using any scrapbooking paper, or rubber stamps, since i design and make them! But it's fun sometimes:)
