i'm by no means an embroiderer, but i can't help feeling pleased with this little project - i keep it in a little drawstring bag made of summersville strike offs and i take it whenever we're away and try to get a little bit done when i've got a spare 5 minutes. i'm trying to embroider enough for the front of a sofa cushion, but i might be some while...just thought you might appreciate a new idea on how to use some summersville! alphabetty would look brilliant done like this too...

Nice! Wish I had the patience.
Oh my goodness this is amazing! Lovely fabrics made double-lovely with some added threads. Too cool :)
That's such a great idea Lou, a lot of your fabrics would be gorgeous bases for adding texture and embellishment - yet another reason to buy them! :)
That's just adorable!
This is lovely!
thank you everyone! x
I love that! So cute!
Genius! how to make awesome even more fantastic :-)
It looks fantastic and such a brilliant idea
I love it :) I love hand embroidery but I am so slow, may just try something similar. Thanks for the inspiration
It looks great! What an inventive idea! =D
GTFO! love!
Cool!! It's on my to-do list to do this with some house fabric from Ikea but those houses are quite large. Maybe I need to buy some more of your fabric...... :) I'm also planning on doing this with some bird fabric I have but again, it's finding the time!
I love this idea! I think the design would also work as wallpaper for a kids room. Maybe on a bigger scale??
Best of luck with the fabric release. I hope it is really successful.
Cheers

This is really wonderful ~ I was thinking that you could color them in with crayons and then embroider ~ can't wait for the fabric to get to Portland, OR!
That is so brilliant, love the colours you've used, well just love the whole thing really!
I don't do embroidery myself, but that is pure awesome.
Ohhh so lovely. What a wondeful idea! Thanks for sharing.
that is going to be beautiful! I kind of like it a bit random--kind of unfinished--I don't know if I'd bother doing the whole thing or just bits and pieces to pop on the black and white.
What a fabulous idea, it's going to be wonderful...I might have to copy you! (No idea how I missed this post but I'm glad I saw it in my reader!)
This looks absolutely fabulous! :)
I have that fabric, and I already thought of doing a similar thing with it. :) Your result looks so gorgeous, I just can't make up my mind, if that inspires me even more to do it, or makes me scared, because I don't think, I could do it so nice as you do!
(please don't mind my English...... ;) )
Cheers,
Dorothee

Hi Lu, I've used your idea and embroidered the Town print for a pouch. Here's the link if you would like to have a look see.
