theraputic stitching...

i've got so many things to do and so many deadlines to keep to, i'm sort of running around blindly like i've got my head up my arse. so i escaped from the kids...crept away upstairs where i furtively made these new badges and magnets, hoping that scooby doo was being entertaining enough...available right here, and also here

one step further...

i didn't know i was going to make this felt pouch until i sat down and made it last night...i was thinking of embroidering straight onto the fabric before making it up but then inspiration hit - why not decorate it with more stitched button badges? i made another one this morning while i was still in jimmy-jams...in actual fact i didn't get dressed this morning until 12.30 pm. oh my, don't tell anyone!

buttons

i sat and had a happy hour stitching these button badges last night whilst watching gok on his new fashion programme... i think these bright colours may have been inspired by his fashion challenge...think clash! apparently, the more clashing your colours, the more high end designer it looks. who knew? not me, that's for sure ;) anyhoo, the set of 3 pinback buttons are available right here.

stitched up

because of the bloody leak in my workroom floor (which has now thankfully been fixed...just needs time to dry out) i've packed most of my stuff up and taken it for storage at the farm. so i'm not only limited on space (working on my bed) i'm limited with materials too. which is a bugger, because in less than three weeks time i've got a sales table at clutter city in norwich. anyway...i'm making stuff with materials i can get hold of easily, hence the onslaught of aceo making. (the one above is called 'beginning, opening') i've also made this black and white pinback button and i've just discovered that i didn't banish my leather scraps to the farm heap, they'd make gorgeous badges...

back!

feelin' better this week and tons more positive...despite a bloomin' leak in my workroom which is going to involve a plumber digging the floor up. today i've been packing all my crap up and taking it to the farm to store until the floor has dried out/been fixed. and my god, do i have some crap. and there's still some left...i've lost the will to live today so it'll have to wait until tomorrow to be finished.

it's going to be interesting working with the minimum of materials though...i've limited myself to keeping a couple of small boxes of stuff so i don't go too mad not being creative and decided to keep my box of felt, my hand sewing threads and my badge maker to hand 'cos what do you get when you combine those three things together? embroidered felt badges of course! loving making these and i feel several experiments coming on...they're very reflective of my summery mood...despite the fact i turned 33 yesterday. yikes! (but i did get an ipod nano out of the deal...good ol' sam!)
