before i had a chance to press 'publish post' last night, my email dinged (is that a word?) and told me my newest sketch (that i had literally that minute listed) had sold. cool huh? i was very excited. and my buyer was none other than the lovely sally. thanks mrs!

i know that won't happen again but on the off chance, here's my newest one, 'pink pear'! ;)

goodness me, it's been two whole days since i posted...i'm afraid for most of that time i've been in bed (although not comfortably so, more guiltily!) as i have had a delightful repeat of the winter yuck bug. today i'm better although in 'new born foal finding her legs' sort of a way, and my head is in a strange wobbly fug. so nothing exciting to report really, but a few days ago i listed another new sketch called 'single/return'. i'm off to the sofa and the hallmark channel...

has it sprung yet? hmm...not yet judging by the weather, but by creating this sketch in greens, i'm rather hoping it bloomin' well hurries up ;) available in the shop :)

funny old weekend this time around, cold and miserable. i'm feeling particularly glum, i think it's the general time of year. also feeling a little bit pissy because it's frank's 5th birthday on wednesday, and through no-one's fault, hardly anyone in sam or my family can make it. we usually have a little birthday tea with family from both sides, he's never been too bothered about 'proper' birthday parties, he likes having his 'people' around him. he's putting a brave face on it, but i can tell he's a little hurt. so i'm feeling glum. isn't that a weird word? glum, glum, glum. rhymes with bum.

batty about birdies

i've really tried to resist the temptation of doing anything birdy as i know the design world is over run with some amazing bird inspired pieces, but i made this bird print block last year and used it on my bags, but then it went largely unused until this week. the red and white obsession seems to have dissipated and has been replaced by birds. i'll get it out of my system i think...next week i'm sure it will be something different. anyway, above is a new sketch in the

shop, called 'flight'. the brooch underneath is a play with the paper cutouts from the sketch. waste not want not!

nice words

two pieces of nice blog posting this week, firstly from a new find for me, dear ada, which is a brilliant blog full of really interesting arty finds, i have bookmarked it for regular reading. the other is from the ever wonderful print + pattern. interestingly, they've both chosen to showcase my black and white drawings...anyway, as always, i'm thrilled and honoured to be featured on such high quality blogs, thank you both!

crikey, this is post 130!

just thought i'd drop in and let the world know that 'reflect' is up for sale in the shop. and to tell you i really hope this is the red obsession out of my system. i just can't help it...especially with pale pink. and dark grey. and with white, oh god, especially with white. anyhoo, i'm going to ban myself from doing anything in that particular colour for ohhhhhh, at least a week. 'kay?

may sixth

back to my 'prettier' colours with this piece, called 'may sixth' (which coincidentally is my wedding anniversary) up in the shop. i'm sorry this is another shop item today, i had another post planned but i couldn't get the picture right...i've saved it as a draft do it another time.

i've also had a shite afternoon. won't go into details, (she says, but does anyway) i'll say just this: one 2 year old with no nap for two days plus an over-tired 5 year old who has just been told he can't play with his friends because he was utterly horrid to me multiplied by a lightly pissed off husband who had a crappish day at work potato harvesting (and has come home to tepid fish and chips, his wife is ironing instead of cooking) equals a big, big unhappy household. i tell you, sometimes i wish i could shout and scream and stamp my feet and go to bed in a huff. oh wait, that's what i did. (nah, not really ;)

red scribble

i should have posted this last night really, but i was just too tired. then i got involved in 'miss marple' which finished quite late (for me, i'm a 'in bed by 10' kinda girl, yes i know that makes me sound like a saddo) then my darling husband switched on the tv to watch the rest of 'the sopranos' and woke me up. grrrr.

anyway, 'red scribble' is a bright and cheery antidote for a fairly autumnal feeling monday morning, made using bits and pieces from yesterday's printing session, and it's available here. a slightly different departure for me colour wise, but i can't help it; the new printing inks are so beautiful, i'm using them straight out of the pots. oh, and if anyone is interested, the inks barely change the handle of the cloth at all, and i printed on a really soft washed cotton where you would easily feel 'hardness'. top marks all round, permaset!
